My daughter (Amy 21 yrs old) just lost (yesterday) her best friend for the past 12 1/2 yrs. Her friends have taken up a collection to have him creamated, so she can have him for always. I knowing she is just dying on the inside. Her animals are her children! Chopper (pet name Doodle) was so much more than her best friend, he helped her too, she has MS and falls a lot. He was just a mute cross between and lab & pit, strong, loving, loyal, 175 lb lap dog, he loved her back so much everyday. She didn't have MS when she got him years agao. But when she got sick, he just jumped him with all 4 paws and helped! She iis diabled and can't afford to buy a service dog. She needs one! But she would like another dog/friend, maybe not right now, but soon.... any thoughts????????????????

Hi Cynthia. I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of Chopper. The pictures are so cute and you can tell how much they loved each other. I volunteer with several local rescues so if you want to send me a message when she's ready, I'm sure we can find just the perfect dog for her. FYI- Animal Control always has plenty of larger dogs and their adoption fee is just $60 which includes everything but rabies.
Thank you.... She has already told me, when she is 'ready' she plans to rescue a dog from the local shelter. That is how she got Chopper in the first place. She use to help with pit bull rescues. Chopper's Mom was pit and lab. A beautiful gentle 170 lb lap dog.
Dog people are the kindest people to be sure! Thanks Monica :-)

There’s some precipitation procrastination today, with the best chances of showers kicking in just about the time you tackle the construction zones this afternoon. Rain still looks likely and steady into the evening and early overnight hours. Good news for your thirsty yard: rain projections are still coming in around an inch through early Friday [...]
