On Saturday, August 14, 2010, Partners for Animal Welfare Society [P.A.W.S.] is hosting the 8th Annual PAWS Pool Party and Dog Dive Contest. Rain date is Sunday, August 15. This event is held at Riley Park Swimming Pool, 300 N. Apple Street, Greenfield, Indiana. Proceeds from this event benefit the P.A.W.S. homeless pet rescue programs.

The Dog Dive Contest requires no prior experience and runs from 10:00 -11:30 am. Medals are awarded to the top three teams. Entry fee is $5 per team. From 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm, the pool will be open to all dogs and their owners for swimming. The pool is heated to approximately 83 degrees and has stairs for easy exiting by the dogs. There is also a "puppy" pool for younger or less adventuresome dogs. The pool area is completely fenced and features two grassy areas -- one for "potty" and one with a fun agility course. Pool passes for this event cost $10 per adult human and one dog; $5 per child [12 yrs & under] and one dog: $2 for each additional human or dog.

Throughout the day the concession stand will be open selling cold drinks, hot dogs and snacks. All dogs must be current on their vaccines. Children must be accompanied by an adult. For more information or to receive Dog Dive Contest rules, contact Nancy by e-mail at pawshancock@aol.com or go to the P.A.W.S. web site at www.pawshancock.org

Enjoyed the pool party again this year. Just brought Rosco and my husband had fun with the water proof camera. Seemed like a good turnout!
