Broadcast personality Joni Michels
is the newest team member to join Pet Pals TV as the host of a new
television show. The Indiana native, has been part of the local
broadcast landscape including television, radio, and print for more
than 18 years.
Michels was recently spotted on the WRTV 6 Morning Show where she
reported traffic and spot news from the helicopter.
Joni was an original member of the FOX 59 Morning show and reported
on everything from traffic and music related news to pet stories.
In addition to her daily duties reporting for FOX, Michels
developed, produced and hosted the Emmy award winning “The
Adventures of Indiana Joni” for the WB 4. A huge pet advocate,
Michels combined her passion for pets and people in the weekly half
hour program.
No stranger to community service Joni served as the Community
Affairs Manager and Kids Club Host in the early to mid 90’s. In
addition to her television career, Joni carried her bubbly
personality to the airwaves of radio where she has found success
over the years. Her familiar voice has been heard as Morning Show
Co-Host on multiple local stations including WFMS 95.5, WZPL 99.5,
WNAP 93.1 and GOLD 104.5. Michels also works as a freelance
reporter for Walt Disney World in Orlando,Florida and writes for
Indy Magazine.

Residing in her hometown of New Palestine, Joni is the proud parent
of the three shelter and rescued pets including Ginger (age 12) a
min pin dachshund mix, and two cats P.J. (age 8) and Lucky(age
6)..the cutest animals on the planet according Joni! When she’s not
taking Ginger on walks, swimming or working on her children’s book
Joni takes to the sky! She’s a bit of an adrenaline junkie and
enjoys skydiving, and parasailing. Michels also enjoys kickboxing
and riding her dirt bike for fun!
When asked about her favorite quote or motto for life Michels says
she tries to live by the words of one of her favorite writers and
poets Mark Twain. “Twenty years from now you will be more
disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than the things that
you did do! So throw the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor.
