Patty Spitler is a host and producer for Pet Pals TV and PetPalsTV.com.
An Emmy award winner, Patty worked for 23 years at WISH-TV in Indianapolis as an anchor and entertainment reporter.
She retired in 2004 for health reasons. Patty has Meniere's Disease with permanent and progressive hearing loss. She volunteers her time with Pet Pals TV and other animal organizations.
In this photo, Patty is holding a beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog named Louie. He was the inspiration for Pet Pals TV. Sadly, Louie passed away in 2014. He was a "natural" on television. Louie enjoyed meeting fans of the program and served as a certified therapy dog.
She now is mom to mutt Mabel and three shelter/rescue kitties.
Paul Poteet is “Indiana’s Weatherman”, along with co- host for Pet Pals TV. He’s a one-man 24/7 content machine with PaulPoteet.com, Paul Poteet’s Gotta Eat, The Paul & Tom Show podcast and daily on-air duties for Z99.5 and dozens of other radio stations across the country.
Ramón Carrera is the Executive Director for Pet Pals TV. Ramón shoots many of the stories you see on the television show and edits the half-hour program.
Ramón also coordinates transmission of the program each week to our growing family of local television stations and cable networks
Ramón owns INDY Audio Visual Productions, a local production company here in Indianapolis. Ramón is a graduate of the University of Indianapolis.
Steve Sweitzer has over thirty years of broadcast TV news experience, mostly at WISH-TV in Indianapolis; shooting, writing, editing, field producing and as Chief Photographer and News Operations Manager. Among his numerous awards, he has been Indiana News Photographer of the Year and taken a first place in the Associated Press reporting category. He is the owner of Sweitzer Productions, a multimedia services company.
He is a former president of the National Press Photographers Association and has received their Sprague Award, the organization’s highest honor for his achievements and contributions to the field of photojournalism.
For the past fourteen years, has Steve taught courses for the Journalism Department at Indiana University Purdue University (IUPUI) where he received the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching, their highest honor for an adjunct professor.
Steve is chair of the NPPA’s Advanced StoryTelling Workshop and the online workshop, Video Storytelling With the Pro. He has judged numerous contests including the NPPA’s Best of Photojournalism contest and the White House News Photographers contest.
Bethany "Buffy" Phyne is Pet Reporter for Pet Pals TV.She is a lifelong animal lover. (Her childhood idol was "Benji"!) Buffy has been a strong advocate for animal rescue work and a foster mom to several rescue dogs the past 15 years. A native of Brazil, Indiana, Buffy graduated from Indiana State University with a Masters Degree in Radio/Television/Film. She is a pharmaceutical sales rep with Daiichi Sankyo. Buffy is a proud dog mom to 4 beautiful dogs: Chloe, Cooper, Chance and Teddy...each from rehome situations or rescued.
Jason Heath is Executive Producer for Pet Pals TV. In addition to producing stories for the program, Jason focuses on affiliate relations with TV stations airing our program. He also works with local TV station newsrooms to find America's best animal news stories to showcase on Pet Pals TV.
An Emmy award-winning journalist, Jason has served as producer and news manager in Indianapolis, Nashville and Hartford. He is the recipient of an Edward R Murrow regional award for Breaking News Coverage and several AP awards for Best Newscast and Best Continuing Coverage.
Pet Pals TV's production offices are located at The Athenaeum Building in downtown Indianapolis. The historic building is at the corner of Michigan and Massachusetts Avenue, in the historic Mass Ave. district.
