"As I have said in the forum, as pet owners you must investigate the facility before you choose a boarding or daycare for your pet.  When you have a group of dogs such as I do, they become a pack and I have to consistantly assert myself to them…"

AGAIN, Use Caution When Boarding

Did anyone see the story today on News 8?  Group playtime is not always best.  Animals are unpredictable regardless of what kind of personality testing the facility preforms before it alows your pet in playtime.  Remember, dogs are pack animals and hunt this way.  It is a primal instict that humans cannot breed out of domestic animals.  At least the people at the kennel were honest about what happened.  The place I volunteered at in Muncie, In would have lied about the whole incident and…See More

Use Caution When Boarding Your Dog At A Kennel

I have worked for a veterinarian and volunteered at a dog & cat boarding facility.  Pet owners are often misled.  Owners at some kennels will tell you whatever you want to hear to get your business.  There are several things people should look for when thinking about leaving your pet at a kennel.  Take the time to visit the kennel before you choose a kennel.  Ask to see the whole kennel inside & out, not just what they want to show you.  Go when they are busy so you can see just how…See More

Dr. Cathy

My dog licks the furniture constantly. What is this about?

Humans with this have GERD – gastroesophageal reflux disease -- and are often given antacids, which have been linked to…

Indiana’s Weather For Tuesday

seven-day-indy-scaled
Back to work, and back to the 80s today, for the first time since Friday. A weak cold front goes through in the morning, bringing an early to mid morning period of some (much needed) showers and storms to central Indiana. Radar will then grow quiet, and you can have lunch outside today, unless you’re [...]
