We are a small kill shelter that are trying very, very hard to get our Euthanasia rate to 0%.  We are doing pretty good at 15%, but there is always room for improvement. We are a place that cares and no one is forgotten.See More

Flash, Click and Speed In Spades. The Photography of Meredith Weiss

If you have ever tried photographing your pet cat you know it takes a flash of luck, an inspired click and a really fast shutter speed. Now imagine if your subject was not just your own friendly feline lounging on your kitchen counter, but colonies of big city feral kitties who have little or no bond with humans. I recently discovered the photography of Meredith Weiss. She’s got flash, click and speed in spades and captures the heart and beauty of the feral cat. I was pleased to meet her…See More

Trap-Neuter-Return: How to Manage a Feral Cat Colony (presented by Neighborhood Cats, New York, NY)

Saturday July17, 2009Today I attended a workshop at the ASPCA in Manhattan (this facility for homeless pets is surprisingly futuristic and beautiful!) the workshop was for Feral Cat Caretakers. The feral cat population puts a huge strain on our shelters and we need more community involvement to get ahead of this issue and care for the cats in their environment. This is part one of a video produced by the Humane Society. It's a good introduction to feral cats.:) See More

Take you ridin' in the car, car

This Honda model was designed with the family pets in mind. I think cats and dogs could ride comfortable and safe in this vehicle. In fact, I think it might be an even better feature for my 2 and 5 year old human children! The netting would help them keep their hands to themselves! No more scratching, slapping and swatting each other. No more Mommy saying "Keep your hands to yourself!" 50 times between home and the grocery. No more launching granola bars at Mommy. Hmmm. I like the netting… Continue

Enjoy long walks with your CAT!

We cat lovers have long envied the ease with which dog people and their canines stroll out of their abodes, and step out for adventure! NO LONGER! Here is a New Yorker who has re-examined the "take your pet for a walk" model from a cat's perspective and come up with the… Continue

This is more than fabulous!
I saw a street performer once in SF who had cats doing tricks on a set up box on the street and begging for food while hundreds of people walked by..the cats were unfazed.....
and this surpasses that....i LOVE this guy, and of course, his cat...he is a true cat-whisperer!

Indiana’s Weather For Saturday

seven-day-indy-scaled
I found some winter! Snow will mix in with the rain this morning around Muncie to Marion to Kokomo northward. There’s evan a Winter Weather Adivosry for a narrow but intense band of snow along the US 30 corridor from around to Plymouth to Fort Wayne, and northward. Up to 4 inches of snow and [...]
