ALTERNATIVE SOLUTIONS FOR PET OWNERS FACING WINTER WITH LITTLE OR NO INCOME

The aftermath of job loss is never easy, albeit, uemployment does soften the blow quite a bit.  Extension benefits  given after unemployment benefits run out for most people (everyone may not have received them) who'd been out of work from jobs that  never recovered from the recession and/or never called them back are definitely a lifesaver tossed out to those drowning in the stormy sea of financial woe.   Especially since searching for another job may have gone on for over a year,  not…See More

"I wonder if the people who stole the pups just couldn't afford to buy them after falling in love with the pups if so, I  hope their punishment is to do time helping out at the facility where the crime took place instead of jail time. …"

How have your pet(s) changed your life for the better?
They are my best friends and inspiration to not give up trying to suceed no matter how difficult times get.
What's the strangest/cutest habit your pet(s) have?
Lexus trys her best to be human. She opens doors and sits at the kitchen table in a chair to prove it; Midnight likes to nibble on you to show how much she cares and let you know it's time for a meaty bone; Rage prefers going to sleep in my bed on time unless I insist on watching a movie then she always comes downstairs with me when I tell her that's what I'm going to do even though she falls asleep on the couch with me. Montana loves to play ball. It's his favorite thing so when I go to feed him he brings me what he wants me to throw before I can get out of the room. They're all terrific!

Dr. Cathy

My dog licks the furniture constantly. What is this about?

Oh no! It’s very possible the poor guy has a tummyache. Maybe his prepared kibble is giving him some acid reflux? But, it could also be a hiatal hernia, which is a weakness of the diaphragm that allows a bubble from the stomach to come up into the chest cavity.

Humans with this have GERD – gastroesophageal reflux disease -- and are often given antacids, which have been linked to…

Indiana’s Weather For Wednesday

seven-day-indy-scaled
Take a deep breath. We are finished with the 80′s and 90′s for the rest of the week and at least half the weekend. Expect breezy, dry west to northwest winds today and a good dose of sunshine. The mix tomorrow will be mostly clouds, and we’ve got a decent shot at wonderfully wet, widespread [...]
