Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show

Westminster was on last night. What a great way to get to check out the different breeds that are out there. Tons of video on line with all the breeds registered by the AKC. I'm more of an obedience fan but then comformation does let us know about the breeding stock available. This goes nicely with The Indy Winter Classic that was over this past weekend.

To watch the different breed videos you can go to the Westminster Kennel Club

Dogs have senses we can't touch. They are masters of body language and scent and those will change before we even know something is going on. Very subtle differences that dogs will pick up and we won't notice. We are blind compared to dogs.

Again, you and I think alike..I do a celebrity pet segment for every show..this coming Sunday, (11:30 channel 13) it's Rupert. he has exotic pets, as you might expect, and a dashhound, too! if I were that little doggie, I'd be scared...but he's not at all! And yes, dave is an old friend, we go way back, he's on our website as a pet pal, too. I owuld love to come and see your operation. I enjoy and respect all that you have said on this site and FB...love em, but give em boundaries and EXERCISE...in fac,t I might like to do a segment on Working Dogs, we'll talk when you get back from your trip!

Greeting people....

A very common issue people have with their dogs is that they jump on people who visit the home. The problem typically starts with their guests--often dog lovers that greet the dogs with all those silly voices, oohs and ahhs. They're anxious to pet and love all over the dogs, and that creates over-excitement. Dogs learn very quickly the association between the door bell and the attention that follows.

That problem can be fixed very easily with proper handling by the owner and the cooper
