How many cats do you have? (Remember to upload photos of them later)
1
Pet Name(s)
Holly aka Furball

Others, although not 'with' me:
"Lil Bits" kitty, age 14 & "Kazmo" (for Kamikaze - poor thing had been abused & appeared to be attempting suicide - once he trusted me - I took him in, called # on his collar - the dog didn't belong w/ the collar, so... I kept him) - part St. Bernhard/Sheltie - a 'walk on', age 9. Both are with my favorite ex-husband. No children, just critter custody issues.

RIP to those who enriched my life from age 1 to... recent goodbyes: Ruthie Kitty (age 14); Bud Kitty (age 5) - a serious 'psychological' problem - he attacked other pets - was on Prozac briefly - but became more aggressive. A 'gift' from my accountant :-/ ; Ringo Bunny / Dutch- cage free (age 11); Beaner kitty (age unknown - aprox 6-7) - he ate an azalea - like rattlesnake venom to cats - :sigh: ; Star Kitty (age 18); Pretty Jane (age 15); Lucky Bunny - cage free - English Angora (age 2) - was somehow 'inbred' - when becoming an 'adult' - her lungs filled with blood & she went quickly. Donated her to Purdue to stop wrongful breeding - was terribly painful & I hope no one ever has to go through that again.

Turbo - Great Dane, gave to friends who had a lot more room for him to play/romp; Pierre Matcho aka "Matches", miniature poodle - (age 19).
Breed(s) / Type(s)
Now: Domestic long hair - silver/tortoiseshell
Birth date May 11, 2009 Rescued May 20, 2010

2 of my favorites were house-trained rabbits. Hope to have more some day.
How have your pet(s) changed your life for the better?
Absolutely! I've always had at least 1 pet - as many as 5 at one time. This past May, my 14 y.o.MaineCoon/Ruthie - was having 'kidney' issues & had been for over a yr. I ran her to the Vet asap, as she didn't eat nor drink anything overnight + hid in a closet. She had an advanced tumor, that came out of nowhere, on 1 of her kidneys. RIP Ruthie - her ashes are with the others - at Pet Rest/Ft. Wayne. 1st time in 35 yrs.,my home was silent. No pet(s). Without hesitation, I visited the Humane Society. Not to 'replace' my sweet Ruthie Kitty - but to give a home to 1 of the many 'recession' animals. Holly - just over 1 yr. old - picked me. She adds joy, surprise, much more 'life' & much love to my home. If I lived out in the country again - I'd easily have 5+ pets again. I didn't get a chance to have children. So, my pets are my 'family'.
What's the strangest/cutest habit your pet(s) have?
Hmmm - have only had Holly for 4 months. So far, the cutest habit is watching her discover a new place to hide (so she thinks, lol) or learns how high she can jump. She LOVES water. The strangest thing is - she 'plays' with her water bowl - spilling it often. We're working on that, lol.

Dr. Cathy

My dog licks the furniture constantly. What is this about?

Oh no! It’s very possible the poor guy has a tummyache. Maybe his prepared kibble is giving him some acid reflux? But, it could also be a hiatal hernia, which is a weakness of the diaphragm that allows a bubble from the stomach to come up into the chest cavity.

Humans with this have GERD – gastroesophageal reflux disease -- and are often given antacids, which have been linked to…

Indiana’s Weather For Wednesday

seven-day-indy-scaled
Take a deep breath. We are finished with the 80′s and 90′s for the rest of the week and at least half the weekend. Expect breezy, dry west to northwest winds today and a good dose of sunshine. The mix tomorrow will be mostly clouds, and we’ve got a decent shot at wonderfully wet, widespread [...]
