- How have your pet(s) changed your life for the better?
- My pets are the epitome of unconditional love, never asking for anything (well, with the exception of food, lol) yet giving so much. They have helped me recover from depression and anxiety--they truly are fuzzy antidepressants! Caring for my animal friends gives me a great sense of purpose and endless joy. Growing up wit pets has taught my daughter empathy and helped our entire family during hard times. Our animals are the threads that tie our family together.
- What's the strangest/cutest habit your pet(s) have?
- Wow, I could write a book here! One example is our cat Damon's preference for smooth textures. He loves to scratch and rub his paws on the airtight plastic food container. Sometimes he'll jump onto the open dishwasher door, or even pounce into the tub, and then rub-a-dub-dub to his heart's content. It's very cute and weird. None of our other cats do this.

My dog licks the furniture constantly. What is this about?
Oh no! It’s very possible the poor guy has a tummyache. Maybe his prepared kibble is giving him some acid reflux? But, it could also be a hiatal hernia, which is a weakness of the diaphragm that allows a bubble from the stomach to come up into the chest cavity.
