They're not really pets but they do make our lives more enjoyable and certainly more beautiful. Our Steve Sweitzer talks to the so proclaimed 'Butterfly Lady' who tells us the Monarch Butterfly is in danger.Seems their very existence depends on the Milkweed plant and that plant is becoming more and more rare due to a variety of…See More
Fair warning, it's a great time at the Indiana State Fair. Come on along as we enjoy the sights and sounds...AND tastes...of this lip smacking, tongue tickling tradition. Yes, many Fair-goers all over the country, admit the best part of any State fair is the food! I'll sample some of the good stuff for you. ( I know, it's a…See More

Patty, I missed the show on how to register you dogs as service dogs, and I have been trying to do this (legitimately). Can you tell me any information or links or where I can maybe see that episode or something? I see several websites on registering them, but I don't know who is legit and who is not. Thanks.
We've adopted 3 retired Iditarod veterans via the August Fund from Northern Whites Kennel in Chugiak, Alaska. I first brought Pluto & Moon home with me last November. They are beautiful loving dogs that were both 12 yrs. old. They were veterans of numerous Iditarod runs. They instantly became very loved members of our family. Pluto passed away from an undetected splenic cancer in mid April. Needless to say we were devastated. As heartbroken as we were to lose Pluto, we decided to bring his brother Cosmos home. Cosmos arrived at the end of April & has been a pure joy & great companion for Miss Moon. I will send you more details about our retirees & I'll include some photos. I just wanted to give you a brief story of our "fur friends". If only these dogs could talk to us. They have run many miles in their lives & have seen things we can only imagine. It's an honor for us to give them a nice retirement & regardless how hard it is to lose them we are the bridge over the rainbow for them & we enjoy every day we share with them.
