- How have your pet(s) changed your life for the better?
- At one time my life was all about me....what I wanted or needed. August 1998 my husband and I adopted our first greyhound Bernie, he was 8yrs. old and the most perfect doggie. Within six months we fostered/adopted our second, Alves and six months after Alves we adopted Charlie. Over the next eleven years we had the pleasure of adopting Hurricane, Lil Lyle, My Sargeant, Slade,Skylar and Dots..... No.... we are not crazy...we love the breed. I spent several years trying to learn all I could about the health and walfare of the greyhound. My Husband and I volunteer several times per month for GPA Indy and help other greyhound owners with greyhound issues.
If you want to change your life for the better.....volunteer. We choose to volunteer for Greyhound Rescue.....which turned out to be the best thing we could have ever done.....I would have never had 12 years of beauitful memories of my nine fur kids or the wonderful people I have had the pleasure to meet along the way.
- What's the strangest/cutest habit your pet(s) have?
- My Charlie would do dough nuts in the middle of the living room floor after his last outing at night.
Slade will run only after he poops.
Skylar and Dots will play chew on each others heads and legs.
Sargeant is the best meet & Greet doggie......not one person will pass by with out him getting a hug and a pat on his head.

My dog licks the furniture constantly. What is this about?
Oh no! It’s very possible the poor guy has a tummyache. Maybe his prepared kibble is giving him some acid reflux? But, it could also be a hiatal hernia, which is a weakness of the diaphragm that allows a bubble from the stomach to come up into the chest cavity.
