DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE NEXT SHOW? HEAR YE, HEAR YE !

We are shouting out aloud-crazy-pleased with our next show for you. And old ad campaign used to boast, 'there's something for everyone'...but in this case, it's true. really! Hey, I don't lie... Give a gander to this lineup for PPTV, Sept 12th...on a TV screen near you !!!

It's called Therapets. A non-profit Fishsrs based group headed by Darlene Gosnell. This former teacher suffered a horrific car accident 10 years ago...she knew her dogs helped her heal. Why couldn't dogs help other people get well faster...or give comfort to those in pain? Armed with only her instincts and 'dogged' determination...in 2004 she started Therapets. Now Darlene's mission is so successful, she's on call 24/7 at St Vincent Hospital. She trains her little Westies and Cairn terriers to comfort the sick ( she even visits hospice patients and tramua cases). We'll tag along on her route ...specifically with children this day. We'll visit a little girl who has CP and had her legs operated on...she pets and talks to one of the white Westies put on her bed. A small boy who had a heart operation won't talk to anyone but reaches out to rub the little fuzzy dog on his small cart. And hear from the medical staff who endorse this outreach program, and find comfort themselves in the TheraPet visits.

Amazing dogs, and an amazing story...kleenex please...

We've unleashed ' the real' Paul Poteet. ..see where you can find one of TV's premiere talents these days. Indiana's Weatherman is busier than ever in the media after leaving his channel 6 weather gig...he also has graciously accepted our offer to be co-host every show. on Pet Pals TV..lucky me. I just adore his pet tricks! Oh yes I do!!! Sit up, Paul! treat !!!!

Meet Betty Jordon, a former vet tech and K-9 Search and Rescue lady who lost both
her legs when her motorcycle and a semi tangled a few years ago. Her dogs have been her salvation, giving her love but .. she can't train bloodhounds anymore, can't do the job she loved..she is looking for an ATV donation to help her work with search dogs again...Maybe you know of someone who can help her, after viewing her story?

Visit the spiffy new cat de-stress center at the Humane Society of Indianapolis,
and meet a special kitty who's had multiple eye surgeries. Now her future is
'looking' good...could she be the new top cat in your home????

Your Pet's the Star!!! new regular feature...starting Sunday, we will spotlight random pics of you and your pets sent in to our website...who knows who'll show up on TV. Gotta watch to see if your furbaby is in the lineup!

Ohhhhh and Fernando, our PPTV dog behaviorist, is on the case of Daisy, a stray pit bull with aggression issues. Can he correct her bad habits??? It's wonderous to see this man at work...each show he will tackle a new dog issue...in order to make them better and/or more adoptable pets. Fernando makes all of us 'snap to it' !!

Plus, we have a nifty giveaway of a specially crafted portrait done by local artist Allison Kegley. You could win!!!! if you can answer the question o' the day...at the end of the show...correctly....soooooooo you have to watch the whole show, boys and girls ! Cool cats and hot dogs, it's almost show time....

Can't wait to see the TheraPets. I used to work with my sheltie in St. Louis with St. Louis Support Dogs Pet Therapy Group. It was always so uplifting to see how the dogs sought out the people who needed them the most.

Dr. Cathy

My dog licks the furniture constantly. What is this about?

Oh no! It’s very possible the poor guy has a tummyache. Maybe his prepared kibble is giving him some acid reflux? But, it could also be a hiatal hernia, which is a weakness of the diaphragm that allows a bubble from the stomach to come up into the chest cavity.

Humans with this have GERD – gastroesophageal reflux disease -- and are often given antacids, which have been linked to…

Indiana’s Weather For Wednesday

seven-day-indy-scaled
Take a deep breath. We are finished with the 80′s and 90′s for the rest of the week and at least half the weekend. Expect breezy, dry west to northwest winds today and a good dose of sunshine. The mix tomorrow will be mostly clouds, and we’ve got a decent shot at wonderfully wet, widespread [...]
