Good News About Animals
We begin with some sad news...Irwin the Wallaby, one of our most popular story subjects, has passed on. He escaped when his caring owners made a move to a new house, and somehow he found a way out of the screened in porch.
To Stephanie and John our sincere sympathies, they were loving, knowledgeable, caring parents.
We will share sound intimate moments with the grieving human owners and reflect back on the smile that Irwin gave us.
Again, we are so sorry for their loss. (Irwin photo is courtesy of Indy Lost Pet Alert)
Debby Knox, esteemed anchorwoman and reporter for the CBS affiliate in Indianapolis, WISH TV, joins our capable and charismatic Paul Poteet to introduce TWO Service Dog stories for Veterans of PTSD. Debby follows one Veteran through the process and uncovers the roadblocks he faced...BUT...WE HAVE A HAPPY ENDING. Rufus is now his Service Dog, and it's a touching conclusion.
I have adopted a baby!!! Did you hear? Oh yes, a bouncing 17 pound brillo-pad of a pooch named Mabel. Part Poodle and part Rat-Terrier, find out why this sassy little mutt is the perfect addition to my family, at this point in time. We also profile the Rescue I got her from, those fantastic folks at Waldo's Muttley Crew! ( Oh yes, before the adoption, we had a long talk about cats, and now she is fine...whew..that was a tough one!)
We also will show you a recipient of our Angels to Animals award. Watch as Trudy Baldwin at HSHC is surprised as her co-workers nominated her for this prestigious award honoring her volunteer service to shelter pets.
Oh, and do you think you know Beagles? Find out in our quickie profile of 'Know Your Breed' !
