Meet Mira, short for Miracle a Mastiff/German Sheperd mix who was a product of an irresponsible backyard breeder in Indiana. Back in 2007, her mother died, and the humans did not want to take care of her any longer.

She was taken in to a shelter ( NOT Humane Society for Johnson County) to be adopted. But that did not happen. Overcrowding forced a decision by the staff to euthanize her. EUTHANIZE! yes, you read it right..and then her 'body' was put in a freezer until it could be disposed of. FOUR days later a shelter worker walked into the freezer and theard a puppy crying in a barrel full of dead animals. Mira was not given enough of the barbituate. She's alive ! It's a miracle! The shelter worker then 'kidnapped' the puppy, and gave her a new chance at life. And what a life she leads!!! Mira now lives with a wonderful woman name Vickie and is a goodwill ambassador for the Humane Society of Johnson County.

Indiana’s Weather For Wednesday

seven-day-indy-scaled
Take a deep breath. We are finished with the 80′s and 90′s for the rest of the week and at least half the weekend. Expect breezy, dry west to northwest winds today and a good dose of sunshine. The mix tomorrow will be mostly clouds, and we’ve got a decent shot at wonderfully wet, widespread [...]
